INDIANAPOLIS — OrthoIndy, a leading independent, physician-owned orthopedic practice specializing in bone, joint, spine and muscle care, today announced the hiring of Caroline Jarrell as its new chief information officer (CIO), effective Jan. 5, 2026.
Jarrell joins OrthoIndy with more than 15 years of experience aligning technology strategy with organizational goals, including more than a decade in physician-led organizations and hospital systems. In her new role, she will oversee information technology strategy, infrastructure and cybersecurity to support OrthoIndy’s continued growth and commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.
“Technology plays a critical role in how we care for patients and support our physicians and staff,” said Dr. Matthew Lavery, president and CEO of OrthoIndy. “With her extensive experience in healthcare IT, Caroline will help ensure our technology infrastructure continues to support seamless orthopedic care for patients across all settings. She will also partner closely with our clinical and operational leaders to thoughtfully streamline and optimize how our teams interact with technology.”
Prior to joining OrthoIndy, Jarrell served as director of information services at Riverview Health. She previously held senior IT leadership roles as executive director of information technology at LADD Memorial/Osceola Medical Center in Osceola, Wisconsin, and as vice president and CIO at The South Bend Clinic in South Bend, Indiana.
Jarrell said she was drawn to OrthoIndy’s strong reputation for delivering high-quality patient-centered care within a collaborative, technology-driven environment.
“OrthoIndy has a clear commitment to ensuring its information technology systems are innovative yet reliable, secure and designed to support high-quality care delivery,” said Jarrell. “I’m excited for the opportunity to partner closely with physician and executive leaders to ensure our technology investments align with the practice’s long-term vision and continue to enhance both the patient and team experience.”
Jarrell earned her bachelor’s degree in political science and psychology at the University of Vermont in Burlington. She also completed a post-graduate program in cloud computing, with specialization in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, through the University of Texas at Austin.
