What are some common causes of lower back pain?
Lower back pain, particularly due to conditions like sciatica, is widespread, and many people are looking for back pain remedies. Eighty percent of the population will experience back pain at some point in their life.
Soft tissue injuries, such as strains and sprains, are the most common causes of back pain. Arthritis of the spine, degenerative disc disease and sciatica are also potential sources of lower back pain.
How do these injuries or conditions occur?
These painful episodes in the lower back are typically caused by lifting a heavy object or twisting the spine while lifting. Sudden movements that place too much stress on the spine can also result in lower back pain or aggravate back pain from sciatica.
Poor posture over time and abdominal weakness can play a role as well. Also, prolonged sitting, inactivity or sports injuries can cause lower back pain.
