Franciscan Health and OrthoIndy announced a new regional collaboration in the Greater Lafayette area today. The plans include a state-of-the-art orthopedic clinic and surgery center at Cumberland Avenue and US 231, next to Cason Family Park to be completed in 2025. The facility will also provide orthopedic urgent care, physical therapy and imaging services.
Franciscan Health and OrthoIndy share the same mission to deliver the highest level of orthopedic care for Indiana patients and families. OrthoIndy surgeons specialize in a variety of conditions and injuries, including hand, shoulder, knee, hip, and sports medicine and bring with them the distinction as #1 in the state for total joint replacement by Healthgrades for the second year in a row.
Franciscan Health has been a fixture in Greater Lafayette for 148 years with campuses delivering award-winning care across multiple services.
“The Greater Lafayette area presents a fantastic opportunity for Franciscan Health to expand our footprint in orthopedics,” said Terry Wilson, Franciscan Health Western Indiana president and CEO. “We have an outstanding partner in OrthoIndy and look forward to providing best-in-class services and care in a state-of-the-art facility for our patients right here in Tippecanoe County.”
“OrthoIndy has been focused on providing a broader range of orthopedic services, and an even deeper bench of providers, to the Greater Lafayette area,” said John Ryan, CEO of OrthoIndy. “We added the seven physicians from the Lafayette Orthopedic Clinic in 2023, bringing our total physician count in the community to eleven. And now have found a tremendous partner in Franciscan Health to create a next-level orthopedic solution for northwest Indiana.”
OrthoIndy surgeons who will be available at the new location will include: Drs. John Bauman, Michael Cross, Daniel Daluga, Michael Highhouse, Mark Page, Troy Roberson, Paul Rodenhouse, Richard Rosales, Jonathan Shook, Peter Torok and Joel Virkler. They will continue to see patients out of the 1411 S. Creasy Lane clinic until the new facility opens.
“This is a real win for patients,” said Dr. Page. “I’ve been serving the Greater Lafayette community for more than 20 years now, and the level of care we’ll be able to provide with this new facility will be unmatched.”
Ground-breaking is scheduled to begin Spring 2024.
