The corner of Cumberland Avenue and U.S. 231 in West Lafayette was abuzz with activity as shovelfuls of dirt flew, with leaders and staff from Franciscan Health and OrthoIndy breaking ground for the new 44,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art Franciscan OrthoIndy Surgery Center.
The new facility will feature an orthopedic clinic and surgery center as well as provide orthopedic urgent care, physical therapy and imaging services.
The Franciscan OrthoIndy Surgery Center will be located next to Cason Family Park. Expected completion of the project is 2025, with construction management company, Tonn and Blank, headquartered in Michigan City, Ind., overseeing the project.
“We are excited to begin construction on the clinic and surgery center,” said John Ryan, CEO, OrthoIndy. “This new facility will be a true one-stop location, fulfilling virtually every orthopedic care need including orthopedic-only urgent care.”
Specialties served at the Franciscan OrthoIndy Surgery Center, include: total joint replacement, hand and upper extremity, sports medicine, shoulder, arthroscopy, general orthopedics and foot and lower extremity.
Franciscan Health and OrthoIndy share the same mission to deliver the highest level of orthopedic care for Indiana patients and families. OrthoIndy surgeons specialize in a variety of conditions and injuries and bring with them the distinction of being #1 in the state for total joint replacement by Healthgrades for the second year in a row.
