OrthoIndy is excited to announce the addition of orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon, Dr. Stephen Greenfield. Dr. Greenfield graduated from Duke University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering. In 2010, he received his medical degree from Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Greenfield completed orthopedic surgery residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, New York in 2015. An interest in biomechanics and joint preservation lead him to pursue dual fellowship training. He first remained at the Hospital for Special Surgery to study limb lengthening and limb deformity correction. He studied realignment techniques for the knee and ankle joints to postpone joint replacement or fusion surgery. He also learned modern techniques for limb lengthening. He then completed his foot and ankle surgery fellowship at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, where he was exposed to a wide scope of foot and ankle surgical procedures from care for the professional athlete to total ankle replacement.
Dr. Greenfield is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society.
